TROX has established itself over the years as a leading provider in the air conditioning, ventilation and building automation industry. With a wide range of high-quality products and tailored solutions, the company has helped improve the quality of life for countless people in buildings – from hospitals and educational institutions to commercial and industrial buildings.
TROX Austria + CEE GmbH acts as a hub for all business in the CEE region. Therefore, the subsidiaries in Hungary, Czech Republic, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Ukraine and Romania also belong to TROX Austria + CEE GmbH. Slovenia is successfully represented by reliable partners.
Today, TROX Austria has seven branches, two cooperation partners and one subsidiary, employing almost 100 people in total. The beginnings were much more modest: On 7 May 1963, the branch opened in Vienna with three employees, a typewriter, a calculator and a dictation machine.
TROX founder and visionary Heinrich Trox chose the metropolis as an additional location to the company’s headquarters in Germany. From Vienna, he aimed to develop the Austrian market and establish business relations with Eastern Europe. The plan worked, and after the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1989, the expansion gained momentum. By then, the Vienna site already employed over 30 people, and additional branches were opened in Hungary, Serbia, and Croatia.
In 1994, the Central and Eastern European branches already contributed more than 33 percent to TROX Austria’s revenue. By 1995, a total of 16 trading companies had been integrated into the Austrian sales network; the seventh branch was opened in Romania.
What began in 1963 with three employees is now a key pillar of the TROX Group: TROX Austria is one of the strongest-performing locations of the globally active ventilation technology company.
